Louisiana Officials Announce $100 Billion SpaceX Project for Massive New Spaceport
Louisiana officials and SpaceX announced a landmark $100 billion project on Tuesday to build a massive new spaceport in southern Louisiana. The facility, named Starbase Louisiana, is planned for roughly 125,000 acres of coastal marshland in Vermilion Parish and is expected to become the largest launch site on Earth.Governor Jeff Landry joined SpaceX President and Chief Operating Officer Gwynne Shotwell at an event in Abbeville to reveal the plans.
